A few words about me

The Artist's Journey: A Tale of Passion and Perspective

In the heart of Staffordshire, England, an artist was born. From the tender age of childhood, the rural countryside was both canvas and muse, nurturing a soul destined to see the world through a unique lens.

Amidst the verdant expanse of Cannock Chase, where sunlight dances through the pine needles and shadows weave intricate tales, my love for drawing and painting blossomed. The days were filled with the rustling of leaves and the scent of earth, my young fingers tracing the contours of a world that seemed both infinite and intimate. It was here, in this green sanctuary, that my artistic identity began to take root.

As the years flowed like the gentle streams of my homeland, the weekends became my time of wandering. With a camera gift from my father at age fifteen I ventured into the woods, capturing moments that whispered to my heart. Each click of the shutter was a symphony of emotions, an ode to the simple yet profound beauty of nature and the cherished faces of family and friends. Photography, it seemed, was woven into the very fabric of my being, a legacy handed down from my father and grandfather.

Schooling years offered a kaleidoscope of mediums—acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel—and while I reveled in each, it was the traditional airbrush tool that truly enraptured my spirit. The smooth, ethereal transitions of colour felt like breathing life onto the canvas, a magic that resonated deeply within me.

After my formal education, I dived into the world of graphic design, honing my skills in an advertising agency. This chapter of my journey broadened my creative horizons, sharpening my talents in illustration and photo retouching. The precise, commercial world of graphic design was a stark contrast to the wild, emotional landscapes of my photography, yet it enriched my vision, adding layers of depth to my artistic narrative.

In my thirties, the dance with the lens took on new forms. I dabbled in wedding videography and promo videos, each project a story waiting to be told, a memory yearning to be immortalized. The camera became an extension of my heart, capturing not just images but the essence of moments that held significance.

People often ask what inspires the pictures I take. The answer lies in the tapestry of emotions that each scene evokes excitement, imagination, humor, curiosity. My approach to photography is guided not by technical precision but by instinct and feeling. My GH5 and OM-1 cameras with Micro Four Thirds system are my trusted companions, but it's the emotional connection to my subjects that truly defines my work.

In the end, it's not about the megapixels or the size of the sensors. It's about the stories behind each photograph, the fleeting glimpses of life that stir the soul. Every image I capture is a piece of my heart, a testament to the beauty of the world as seen through the eyes of an artist who has spent a lifetime wandering, observing, and feeling deeply.

This is my journey—a tale of passion, perspective, and the relentless pursuit of capturing the world not just as it is, but as it feels.
